The AFS office in Ghana is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year! From 1967 to 1997, AFS Ghana hosted 163 participants and sent 410 of their students abroad. The unique poster depicted above was designed by Mr. Teye Obahi Akunor, an AFS Participant from Ghana to Switzerland in 1975-1976. To create the poster, Akunor painted diagonal lines of red, yellow and green – the colors of the Ghanaian flag – on the poster; then, he covered certain parts of the poster with black paint, to delineate the text and the AFS logo. The four original photographs glued to the poster show how students traveling to and from Ghana can “Discover the World with AFS,” including a participant from Ghana in Liechtenstein, and a participant in Ghana wearing traditional Ghanaian clothes.
